All you have to do is a little each day with commitment, a wee bit ‘o courage, and talking with your coach to keep moving forward and making tremendous progress. We will give you the explicit instructions to follow to maximize your training while keeping you from injuring yourself. Just give us a couple minutes each day of solid effort and you’re going to skyrocket your training. Description: This move starts in standing. You will hold the towel with 1 arm that will lift above your head causing the towel to be placed behind your back. Then with the other arm you will reach behind your back for the towel. Work your hands towards each other using the towel as a guide to bring them closer together. When you have reached as closely together as you can, use the upper hand to pull the towel slightly up to give an extra stretch to the lower hand behind your back.
Goal: 5 reps each arm x 15 second holds
Description: This move starts by lying on your back with your legs straight. You will then lift 1 leg at a time doing circles with that leg being sure to keep the circles even and not rotating your hips away from the ground to compensate for any tightness. *Each rep includes a clockwise and a counterclockwise rotation.
Goal: 5 reps per leg
Description: This move starts by standing with your feet slightly separated. Keep your knees straight, do a body roll until your hands touch the floor. Walk your hands out to a tall plank position. Use your core to pull yourself back up into a standing position while trying to keep your knees straight the whole time.
Goal: 3 rounds of 5 reps
Description: This move begins in a frog stand. Then perform a “push-up” type movement with your arms as you kick your legs backwards into a tall plank. Assure your core is intact to keep your lower back from arching.
Goal: 3 rounds of 3 kickbacks
Description: Start sitting on floor with legs out straight and toes pointed. Position hands on floor in front of hips trying for near middle of the thigh. Lean forward and give a strong push with your triceps and shoulders downward to lift your bottom. HOLD the V-stand and lift one leg at a time. Do 10 reps of one leg before switching legs.
Goal: 3 rounds of 5 reps each leg
Description: Begin in a plank on elbows. Rotate one leg over the other while rotating on one shoulder as far as you can. Hold for 10 seconds then return to a plank. Rotate the opposite direction.
Goal: 3 rounds of 5 reps each direction
Description: Do a handstand wall walk up as far as you can. Engaged your core maximally while you stack your hips over your shoulders. Then bring one leg off the wall. Then switch legs.
Goal: 3 rounds 5 attempts each leg
Description: Begin with your feet on the FLOOR with your body in a pike position. Perform a push up assuring only your elbows/shoulders are moving but you are keeping the angle at your hips the same. Once you have mastered that, elevate your feet on a stable surface as the video shows.
Goal: 3 rounds of 8-10 push ups
Description: Begin in a reverse plank position with your fingers pointing towards your toes. You will then squeeze your core and compress your body into the V-stand. The goal here is the compression moment needed for V-stand so get shoulders in front of hips as far as you can go.
Goal: 3 rounds of 5 reps x 5 second holds
Start in the horse stance squat (hips and knees at 90 degrees.) Twist further than 90 degrees to one side allowing the back leg to pass under the front leg, then complete bending the knee to the floor as much as possible.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 reps each limb
Description: Start sitting with legs spread wide into a split position. Rotate your body towards one leg. Place your hands on either side of your leg with your palms flat onto the ground. Focus on lifting one leg at a time. *You will need to be sure to hold a strong quad contraction and to point your toes to help the quads maximally engage.*
Goal: 3 rounds of 8 reps each side
Description: Start standing with feet wider than your shoulders. Then squat with 90 degrees of bending at hips and knees. You will then shift towards one side then the other without lifting your hips between sides.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 reps each direction
Description: Start in the horse stance squat (hips and knees at 90 degrees.) Twist further than 90 degrees to one side allowing the back leg to pass under the front leg, then complete bending the knee to the floor as much as possible.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 reps each direction.
Description: Begin in a hollow back plank and maintain throughout. Have your feet on something that will slide on your floor – socks, oven mits, hand towel, etc. PULL yourself with your arms forward.
Goal: 3 rounds of 25 ft pulls.Goal: 3 rounds of 1 min planks
Description: Begin on your hands and knees (quadruped position). Tighten your core to keep your trunk as immobile as possible. Lift one leg out to the side as far as your hip will allow. Picture a glass of water sitting on your lower back. Do not let the water pour out. Then kick your knee out as straight as you can. Slowly return to a quadruped position without letting your core rock.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 reps per side
Description: Begin in a tucked up position (knees to chest). Release your arms over your head and straight your knees out while laying down on your back. Then use your core to pull yourself back up into the tucked up position.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 reps
Description: Begin in a tall kneeling position. Maintain hollow body position and perform triceps extension.
Go as slow and controlled as you can.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 reps
