Description: Follow along with this video for a full-body flexibility training.
Goal: 1 round at start of workout for warm-up. 10 second holds per move.
Description: Sit on your feet and lower your hips down to your heels. Walk your hands out as far as you can. Then while keeping your booty on your heels, walk your hands to the left as far as you can. Then walk your hands to the right.
Goal: 10 second holds x 4 reps each direction.
Description: Position the foam roller as the video demonstrates at the top of the side of your pelivs bone. If it is uncomfortable depending on the firmness and side of your foam roller, you can lay a pillow across it. You will need to be comforable in this position to RELAX. Let your body fold over the foam roller and feel the side of your body stretch and open up.
Goal: 30 second holds RELAXED x 2 reps to start.
Description: Begin leaning back on your forearms with legs straight. You will performed a straight leg raise while reaching your oppsite arm up and across your body. Keep lower back pushed into the floor at all times. You should feel like in your obliques.
GOAL: 3 rounds of 10 reps each direction.
Description: Start in the horse stance squat (hips and knees at 90 degrees.) Twist further than 90 degrees to one side allowing the back leg to pass under the front leg, then complete bending the knee to the floor as much as possible.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 reps
Description: This move starts in a side plank position. You then will lift your hips from the floor to be neutral with your shoulders and back down. When on your left arm, you will take your right leg and position in front of you on the floor to lessen side discomfort. Focus on holding your core tight to keep your spine as neutral as possible. Take your top arm and “thread the needle” by rotating at your bottom shoulder.
Goal: 3 Rounds, 5 reps each side per round.
Description: Start in a push-up position with your hands turned at least 90 degrees to the side (if not more to face backwards.) Hands should be positioned so that as you dip down on the push-up your hands are level with your stomach. Hold your core active throughout push-ups to support spine and encourage gluteal activation. *Keep elbows close to side as much as possible to maximize triceps engagement.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 reps per round.
Description: Start standing with feet wider than your shoulders. Then squat with 90 degrees of bending at hips and knees. You will then shift towards one side then the other without lifting your hips between sides.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 reps each direction
Description: Start standing with hands on a surface waist height or higher. Then walk feet backwards and bend at hips to allow the shoulders to open.
Goal: 10 sec holds x 5 reps
Description: This move starts in lunged position. Place one leg in front of you like in the video. You will then lean forward causing an increase in stretch to the hip/buttock area.
*Be sure to keep your chest up and hips pointed forward.*
Goal: 30 second holds x 2 reps each leg
Description: This stretch begins in a quadruped (on hands and knees) position. Place one leg out to the side. Walk your foot out as far as you can go. You should feel a stretch on the inside of your thigh, groin, and possibly hip joint.
Goal: 30 sec hold x 2 reps each leg
Description: Start sitting on floor with legs out straight and toes pointed. Position hands on floor in front of hips trying for near middle of the thigh. Lean forward and give a strong push with your triceps and shoulders downward to lift your bottom. HOLD the V-stand and lift one leg at a time. Do 10 reps of one leg before switching legs.
Goal: 3 rounds of 5 reps each leg.
Description: Being sitting with your arms propped behind you. Set your core. Use your core to produce a leg V-Up.
Goal: 3 rounds of 8 reps
Description: Begin in a plank on forearms with arms crossed as videoed. Make sure your lower back is not arching. Keep your forearms crossed as you use your triceps to push up one at a time.
Goal: 3 rounds of 8 reps each arm
Description: Begin with your arms out infront of you to assist with counterbalancing. Balance on one leg with your other leg held out in front of you. Slowly lower yourself via pistol squat to a raised surface of appropriate height (edge of bed, couch arm, couch seat). No falls or flops so make sure the raised surface is the right height for you.
Goal: 3 rounds of 8 reps each leg.
Description: Begin in a plank on your hands. Slide your feet up until they are next to your hands as the video shows. Lower your booty into a deep squat. Push to slide your legs back into a plank.
Goal: 3 rounds of 8 reps
Description: Begin with your feet on the FLOOR with your body in a pike position. Perform a push up assuring only your elbows/shoulders are moving but you are keeping the angle at your hips the same. Once you have mastered that, elevate your feet on a stable surface as the video shows.
Goal: 3 rounds of 10 push ups.
Description: This move starts by standing with your feet slightly separated. Keep your knees straight, do a body roll until your hands touch the floor. Walk your hands out to a tall plank position. Use your core to pull yourself back up into a standing position while trying to keep your knees straight the whole time.
Goal: 3 rounds of 5 reps
Description: This move starts by leaning forward and allowing your hands to reach the ground with knees bent. Then slide your legs out to the side, straightening your knees as you slide them outwards. Once you reach a comfortable split position with minimal stretching, you will gently pulse your hips up and down to give an additional stretch at the bottom of the pulse and back to resting position at the top of the pulse allowing your body weight to be partially supported by your arms.
Goal: 15 seconds of pulses x 5 reps
Description: This stretch begins in a lung position with your back leg straight. Bend your front knee until you feel a stretch in the front of your back leg. Make sure you don’t arch your lower back. The only thing that should be moving is your front leg.
Goal: 3 reps each leg with 15 sec holds
